The country requirement

Moon states that you must reside in a country or region where it is available and supported before you can create an account. Moon does not publish a list of those countries, so this page cannot list them either. Check the registration page on your own device to see if Moon is available to you.

The country and age rules apply whether or not you use a referral code. A code such as ACES changes the fee rate on your account. It does not change who Moon lets register.

Email verification

After you register, Moon sends a verification email with a code. You enter the code to confirm your address. Moon requires this step before other account features open.

Identity verification: submit before a deposit, wait for approval before a withdrawal

Moon separates the two checks. You must submit identity verification before you can make a deposit. You must have it approved before you can withdraw funds. Start the process early if you plan to withdraw soon after you fund the account.

Moon may ask for a government-issued ID, front and back, and proof of address. Verification times vary with demand and with the quality of the documents you submit. Moon publishes no fixed processing time, so this page does not state one.

Deposits: cryptocurrency only

Moon states that at this time it supports cryptocurrency deposits only. Pick the asset you hold, copy the deposit address Moon shows you, and send it from an external wallet on the matching network. A deposit sent on the wrong network can be lost, so match the network before you send.

Account security features

Moon supports two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, and passkey login as an alternative to a password. You can see a list of active sessions and disconnect any of them. Every session logs out automatically after a password reset.
